Bridges And Not Walls
“The fruit of The Spirit is love…” Galatians 5:22.
“There is no place for God in theories on the creation of the Universe, the physicist and mathematician Professor Stephen Hawking has said,” This quote is found on the BBC website. This has been a long debate between Creationists and atheists. Each side argues the best they can to prove that their theory is the correct one.
I believe that both sides are sincere in making their claims. There is nothing wrong definitely with having a different opinion as long as we remain respectful of the views of others and humbly share our views. We have to honor each other’s opinion based on their most honest thinking. The problem starts when we feel that our opinion is better than other’s.
There is a great wall of separation between those who believe in God and those who don’t believe in God. Those who believe in God pass judgments on those who don’t believe by saying that, “All of you will go to hell because you don’t believe in God. God will burn you there forever.”
The Bible beautifully puts it, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
The Bible doesn’t teach about eternal hell though most Christians believe in it.
The Bible says, “say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but at the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11) and in 2 Peter 3:9 The Bible says that God, “is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
If GOD does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked and seeks to bring all to repentance, then believers who accuse and condemn unbelievers cherish a satan like spirit for it is the devil who is the accuser of brethren. (Revelation 12:10)
What are we really doing when we accuse and condemn those who don’t agree with our views?
We’re building walls, where GOD has asked us to build bridges. Wasn’t it JESUS HIMSELF about whom it was said that the publicans and sinners constantly drew near to HIM(Luke15:1). HIS messages were in opposition to the lifestyle practiced by these people and yet they were constantly drawn to HIM, for HE loved them not because of what they did, but because of who they were – they were children of GOD.
We must love others because God has loved us in the past, is loving us now, will love us forever and HE seeks to win a lost world through us. Will we reflect HIM rightly to the world?
Atheists believe in doing good, and the true discerner of what is GOOD is GOD HIMSELF. So, those who believe in God, please stop condemning and insult those who don’t believe in God as those who are to be burned in hell. Let us just win the world in GODlike love and do good to one another regardless of gender, nationalities, religion and so on. This is what we need the most right now in the world.
The Bible says that the first fruit of the Holy Spirit is LOVE…….. and then joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance. Then, what the world desperately needs is The Holy Spirit, so that we can genuinely know how to love one another. GOD alone can make us more loving like HIMSELF. The HOLY SPIRIT, the faithful still small voice that always reminds us to be kind, polite, and humble. This is an undeniable fact that the HOLY SPIRIT is striving with man regardless of what you believe.
Why don’t we listen to Him then? Why don’t we ask Him to make the world a better place to live in by asking The Holy Spirit to teach us how to pray? Roman 8:26-28 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
